...we're making a new Steam game you're missing out on
...this platform isn't getting better :(. If it was we'd come back
ten years ago I was randomly DM'd by Nintendo to go to a hotel lobby for a secret event and ended up playing Super Mario 3D World with Reggie. To this day I have no clue why I was selected but it was amazing
why are veteran Flash devs saying "oh god not again?"
In 2012 Adobe announced a 9% fee on net revenue (over $50k) for using hardware acceleration + other modern features (especially those geared towards console/PC development)
Many flash devs made the move to Unity
Armor Games is moving permanently to a four-day workweek after a 3 month trial.
After our latest survey 87.5% of employees were ready to implement the workweek permanently. 100% of employees felt their productivity was the same (or better) than a 5-day workweek.
At Armor Games we're extending the 4-day workweek trial to Dec 31 based on early positive results and the team unanimously requesting to continue our trial (or implement permanently). Here's more of what we've found so far (/8🧵):

I spent Dec 24 installing updates on my daughter's first game console. I installed games I worked on and from friends in the industry
She unwrapped her Switch and was immediately into it. She ended her first half-hour asking, "how do I make games?"
Games are so wonderful
The game industry would be better if we successfully replaced the Flash games ecosystem:
- Lower barriers, tools accessible to all skill levels
- Free games made in days/months (not years/decades)
- Sponsorships/ads to pay devs
- Awesome player communities
- Low/no marketing
