I am fairly certain the PA announcer had nothing to do with it. It more likely was a stadium DJ that big colleges hire for some reason to create noise instead of letting the bands play.

Phil Jones, who was the first football coach at Shorter College and headed the program from 2005 through 2015, died today from pneumonia. He was head coach at Jeff Davis, Fitzgerald, Dooly County, and Fitzgerald, and an assistant coach at UGA from 1998 through 2000.

I made a successful cut back move behind my blocker to score a touchdown in the parking lot of the Clara Neal Motel during a touch football game on an Auburn University debate team tournament trip.

While I fully understand and support the need for local school systems to restrict attendance during this time of COVID-19, officials should be able to find some way for the parents of players on playoff teams who may be competing in their last high school game ever to attend.

With high school football attendance likely limited in most places this fall, the fans who do get the chance to attend need to arrive early, pay attention to what is happening on the field instead of treating it likea social event, cheer for their team, and stay to the end.

What an incredible ending to a state championship game that was as good as it could get. Buford now has won state championships in Class A, AA, AAA, AAAA, AAAAA, and AAAAAA.

They are 17 and 18 year old kids. My daughter changed her college commitment at the last minute with scholarships at both places. However, since she wasn’t an athlete, nobody criticized her online.

Two quarterbacks who were in tough football playoff losses last night—Reece Fountain of Rome and Javin Whatley of Rockmart—are right back on the basketball court this afternoon playing against each other for their respective teams. That takes dedication. @NwGaFootball
