Zouma gets a kick and goes down. The Watford fans immediately deliver a chant I've never heard at a football ground before: "that's how your cat feels."

Woman in the bureau de change just told me I'd get 320 euros for £300 for my holidays. I told her to buck up, be more optimistic and stop pedalling project fear. But oddly she didn't give me any more.

Manchester City now preparing to withdraw. It's a goner. @GNev2 was right: they're all bottle merchants

Manchester United were offered Moises Caicedo, but their brilliant, alert and always on the money recruitment department decided not to pursue an interest. So the 20 year old went to Brighton. For £4million. And on Sunday completely dominated the United midfield.

Bizarre the number of people on Twitter suggesting this joke of a Super League is no different from the Premier League. It is completely different. At no point did the PL ever propose being a closed shop. Relegation and promotion were integral from the start.

Still nine weeks of transfer window to go. So this is how I expect Man United to line up in first PL game: De Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Varane, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Sancho, Fernandes, Elanga; Ronaldo

Ed Woodward is spending a small fortune hiring a PR consultant to improve his image with fans (bloke's been busy, see below). I could tell Ed for free what to say that would immediately cheer the fans up: I resign.
Man Utd fans branded 'an absolute disgrace' by BBC commentator for 'asking Ed Woodward to die' in chant mirror.co.uk/sport/football…

Not a single person with Manchester United at heart will mourn Ed Woodward's departure from Old Trafford. He was a completely useless administrator who presided over decline and fall without an idea of how to counter it. He leaves the place in an utter shambles. Some legacy that.

Very decent of British Airways to text me a profuse apology for the delay on the flight from Accra this morning. And the fact I wasn't on the flight from Accra this morning and indeed have never been on a flight from Accra will not stop me accepting their apology in full.

The money taken out of Man Utd to service the debt foisted on the operation by the Glazers could have allowed every season ticket holder to watch every single match for free over the past 18 years and still the club would have made a profit. And the debt is still there.

Went to Shrewsbury Town today and saw the safe standing area freshly installed. Looks great. And despite what Tracy Crouch seems to believe not remotely frightening.

Man Utd fans at Burnley chanting "one Cyrille Regis" before kick off. Great to hear...

Once wrote a piece about way in which young Asian cricketers in Yorkshire were routinely discriminated against by a system rigged against them. When I contacted YCCC they said that all the instances I had were historic and it would never happen again. Piece was published in 1990.

On my way to Old Trafford later. Looking forward to being briefed by Ed Woodward's people on how hard he worked to sign a Watford has-been.
