Personal update: I’m leaving the BBC today after 24 years.
What a privilege it’s been to travel the world and tell people’s stories.
Thanks to the many lovely colleagues whose talent, courage and friendship have made it such a pleasure

00:00 - German police say they believe Madeleine McCann was murdered by a German citizen who was living on the Algarve at the time of her disappearance. He's in prison for an unrelated offence. They're appealing for information from holiday makers who were there in April and May 2007

- And just in case you were in any doubt as to German position, the Bundestag has just agreed to oppose renegotiation of Brexit deal. Majority of MPs voted in favour of a motion which states ‘it would be an illusion to hope that a rejection of the deal could lead to renegotiations’
- Angela Merkel at Auschwitz. The German Chancellor said she felt deep shame at horrors perpetrated by Germans here. Today’s values must be defended because of rising anti semitism, racism, intolerance
