With the outstanding teamwork of Brendan Benedict and Michael Altebrando, Evan Bernick & I proudly filed this originalist amicus brief defending birthright citizenship in Trump v. Barbara: supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/25/2…

Here's the context everyone is ignoring: The DOJ has had Parnas's phone & all these damning texts for 3 months. But we learn of them only bc a court order allowed Parnas to give them to the House a few days ago. Seems like Barr is covering up these crimes. And he's implicated.
Here's the context that Collins is ignoring: DOJ seized Parnas' phones and other materials when he was arrested in October, before he got the House subpoena. Parnas only recently got his devices back from the DOJ and secured permission from a judge to give this stuff to Congress.

Anyone blaming Harris or Walz today has utterly lost the plot & missed the point. This is fundamentally about America, toxic masculinity, & white supremacy. Blaming Harris would be part of that problem, not the solution. She deserves our thanks. Thank you, @VP @KamalaHarris

Before people get upset about not calling witnesses: I think Democrats understand the chances have increased significantly over the past 24 hours of Trump being criminally prosecuted for Jan. 6 (with witnesses, a real judge, and full legal process). Plus the Georgia call.

If @JDVance1 can change his name FOUR times: James Donald Bowman to James David Bowman to James Hamel in 2003 to JD Vance in 2014... then I think other folks should be free to choose their own names and pronouns without getting shamed or blamed.

Thread: A president under investigation for impeachment has never appointed a Justice. Not Nixon, not Clinton, not Andrew Johnson. Never. Democrats should make clear that if the GOP destroys this tradition, they will expand the Court to 15 in 2021 without filibuster.

Why is anyone surprised that Trump approved of concentration camps in China? Just in case you were in a coma in 2018, Trump built concentration camps with child cages on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Old bad conventional wisdom: Mueller is taking so long because there was no collusion. New conventional wisdom: Mueller is taking so long because everyone was coordinating lies. Future conventional wisdom: Mueller is taking so long because there are SO MANY CRIMES.

I just voted in our primary, and I discovered I was officially an “inactive voter” because I “had not completed the census.” I 100% filed my census online last spring. Yet I had to fill out additional paperwork to vote today. This doesn’t make me feel better about November.

I’d much rather have a special counsel/independent prosecutor investigating the Jan 6 insurrection than a “bipartisan” commission, which would be partisan, dysfunctional & ineffectual anyway. The Senate GOP blocking a commission makes a stronger case for a special counsel.

I encourage everyone to read Bill Barr’s viciously partisan speech to @FedSoc. Its hackery and intellectual dishonesty is an utter embarrassment to the DOJ, @FedSoc, and to all of us (yes, me, too) who try to be intellectually honest about textualism & original public meaning.

The only reason we are up at 3 AM, instead of Biden winning clearly at 9 PM, is that slaveowners created a ridiculous mechanism to protect slavery in 1787.

Qatar now says it "unwittingly" bailed out Jared Kushner and his 666 5th Ave. disaster. Excuse me? Many of us have been explaining for a year how Qatar has been bailing out Kushner. The question is why Qatar is admitting it now but spinning desperately... What news is coming? 1/
Exclusive: Qatar is attempting to keep tighter control of its investments abroad after finding out it may have unwittingly helped bail out a Manhattan skyscraper owned by the family of Jared Kushner, sources tell @Reuters reut.rs/2DyY3En

The question is NOT whether Barr could read 300 pages and write a letter in 2 days. For lawyers, historians & many others, that's our regular day job. It's the opposite problem: He easily could have written _more_. Why is his letter so short? Why no Mueller executive summary?
