All three provincial appointees to the @OttawaPolice service board have resigned, according to the Solicitor-General's office. This after @QPBriefing reported that member Robert Swaita attended the truck protest in Ottawa. This is a mess. #OttNews

There is $3B available to bribe us with our own money, but not to open more hospital beds or train more doctors? Great priorities.

I have never seen so much vitriol at city council in the 12 years I've been covering it. Several councillors have told Mayor @JimWatsonOttawa they've lost confidence in this. Also the word "disgusted" is being thrown around a lot. #OttNews

Pierre Poilievre just doubled down: "We will defund CBC." I left journalism two years ago, but the work I was proud to do with my CBC colleagues brought crucial information about our municipality to citizens of Ottawa that they would never have learned otherwise. That matters.

This seems clearly untrue, as is evidenced by the parked semis in the downtown. #OttNews
We want to be very clear, both for the current demonstrations and any planned demonstrations--illegal activity will not be tolerated. There will be consequences for anyone contravening City By-laws, Highway Traffic Act and Criminal Code legislation. @ottawacity @OttawaBylaw

.@OPSChiefSloly says some bridges and highway bridges will be closed as need to limit trucks into the core. The question is, of course, why was this not done last weekend? We’ve heard this week that was not possible…yet here we are. #OttNews

Back in March, I wrote that SNC-Lavalin didn't meet the 70% minimum technical score, but still won the $1.6-billion contract. Today, documents confirm that is true. Here's our breaking story: cbc.ca/news/canada/ot… #ottnews
