Today's edition of the Kerryman marks my last contribution as a GAA writer before moving to pastures new next week. Want to thank @Brennan_PB & @damianstack from the bottom of my heart for opportunities they have given me over last 12 years to turn a hobby into a living. 1/2.

On this momentous County Final Day for East Kerry as a district & one week shy of the anniversary of his death Weeshie Fogarty will be smiling down on proceedings today. Winner of 4 County Championships with East Kerry, how he would be proud standing in the commentary box today.

Fitting last Corn Ui Mhuiri Final of decade is between Pobalscoil & The Sem. 8 of the 9 titles have been won by them since 2010. Both have ended each other's participation in competition 6 times in that period! Not to forget the 4 Hogan Cups between the 2 schools as well.

Hard to believe this was over 11 years ago and guy to right of me looking at photo is now champion of the world. Hard to believe I only interviewed him for work less than a month ago about his chances. Hard to believe he hit a nine-darter against MVG! Well done Michael Smith!!!

St Pat's Castleisland stun Tralee CBS to win Russell Cup final by 3-8 to 1-12. Their goalkeeper Michael Hickey saves a potentially equalizing penalty deep in injury time after a Michael Horan goal had given them control of scoreboard. Were Munster C U15 champs before Christmas.

Happy New Year to everyone. One image from 2022, Sunday July 24th in Croke Park, the earliest All-Ireland Football final ever played. Taken by Kerry Kennelly during a quiet time before the masses arrived. Will be back there tomorrow week for Strand Road v Kilmacud as 2023 begins.

Amazing Premier Junior campaign for Churchill... from going through to the Semi-Finals with a last minute goal 2 weeks ago & total points scored in their 3 games to taking the highest ranked team in the competition to extra-time tonight before bowing out. Beauty of Championship!

Templenoe into Kerry Senior Club final after a 0-14 to 0-10 win over Dingle on home turf. Killian Spillane with 0-5 in their win as they play their way out of some strong pressure from Dingle in second period. Historic achievement for a club who were at Novice level 9 years ago.
