Trust me, my friends: If a Democratic president did this, all of us conservatives would explode in rage -- this usurpation, this defilement of the people's house -- and we'd be right.

Have you noticed that the allegedly pet-eating Haitian immigrants of Springfield, Ohio, are no longer an emergency? No longer a "thing"? Could it be that it was all a lie, designed to spread fear and get votes? Beware populism, beware demagoguery. It corrodes nations and souls.

    Lovely weather here in Pyongyang.

From a conservative who has been disgusted by the Trumpified GOP: “I didn’t think I could drag myself to the polls. But after the Left’s performance in the Kavanaugh affair, I would crawl across broken glass.” I believe this sentiment is common.

Reminder: McCain was shot down on his 23rd bombing mission over North Vietnam. Fractured his arms and a leg, almost drowned. Tortured, for years. Two years of solitary confinement. Endured more than most of us could ever imagine. Very, very tough guy. Patriot. Hero. A real man.

Let me ask Republicans: If Obama or Biden had published such a statement -- or Hillary or Kamala -- what would you have said? Whatever it is, please consider saying it now.

A short while ago, men such as Robert Mueller, William Taylor, and Alexander Vindman would have been pin-ups for (us) American conservatives: decorated combat veterans; patriots; straight arrows. The urge to prop up Trump changed all of this. A heartbreaking and infuriating era.

Listening to these hearings, you can see why Republicans, both in electoral politics and in the media, worked so very hard to keep them from ever coming about.

This morning, I passed my neighbor, who was walking his dog. He uses a walker now and moves very slowly. He is incredibly tough. On his forearm is a tattoo -- not the kind the kids get. I stared at that faded number this morning, and my stupid, shitty problems melted.

Josh Hawley calls for a "new nationalism." I have a feeling that this is a politics that does not respect our democracy, including our election results. This strikes me as a politics that pumps its fist in encouragement of the mob. Keep an eye on Hawley and his ism. 1/2

If a Democratic president called his critics and opponents "human scum," all of us conservatives would say that this was outrageous and ominous from a leader in a democracy. We would say that this was reminiscent of Communists, fascists, and other such types. What say we now?
The Never Trumper Republicans, though on respirators with not many left, are in certain ways worse and more dangerous for our Country than the Do Nothing Democrats. Watch out for them, they are human scum!

Don’t kid yourselves, chillen: If a Democratic president asked a major American adversary — a Communist dictatorship — to investigate his domestic political opponents, we on the right would be howling at the top of our lungs — with good reason.

Before they hanged him, Eichmann looked at Eitan and said, "Your time will come to follow me, Jew." Eitan replied, "But not today, Adolf, not today." Good goin', Rafi. R.I.P.

Hard to keep track of the Biblical themes at CPAC this year. If I have understood correctly: They canceled a pharaoh and brought in a golden calf?
