my dissertation advisor never let me use the word “impactful” in my work cause she said it was too vague of a descriptor (“impact how? in what concrete ways? and to whom?” she’d ask) and i’m so glad she did cause now every time i see that word i usually ask the same things LOL.

i find myself saying “whatever that means” at least 9-10x a day bc people really just be putting words together without saying anything! 🫠

you cannot “explain” the politics we’re experiencing today if your analysis begins in 2016.
