    Nice….I’m simply trying my best to keep the population as safe as I can and give the best advice I can. The advice in Scotland is different now to the advice elsewhere so it feels appropriate the National Clincal Director should say so.

    Today’s mass vaccination clinic @NHSLouisaJordan is well underway, as 5,000 Covid-19 vaccines are set to be administered throughout the day in collaboration with @NHSGGC!

    Scotland….this man has done more during the pandemic than almost any other and now he is taking some time to once again face his own cancer fight. He is an actual legend….I wish him well and look forward to his return….

    An important point of clarity in a tough day for people to take in the new advice. Extended households in Scotland still exist. They are for support and continue.

    Wow. Tone deaf? I didn’t suggest a miserable Dickensian Christmas Richard. If you listen to the interview I said a large multi-household family gathering doesn’t seem likely and what we’re all doing now will I hope get us closer to a family Christmas…for me, for you and others

    Well, it finally got me for the first time. Global and Scottish cases are rising. Be careful everyone. I’ll be following the recommended guidance and hoping for a short, easy course. I’m very glad I’m fully vaccinated.

    I love that everyone is impatient for the vaccine and keen to help protect themselves and others. We will get to you...please be patient. Don't call your GP, they know you're there. The NHS will be in touch. We will get to you as supplies arrive.

    Some confusion today. 1) there is NO PLAN to ask over 70s to completely socially isolate as with the symptomatic 2) we are working on guidance for the over 70s to be asked to REDUCE social contact for their safety. So no bingo, no pubs…BUT family visits and neighbours etc.
