I am grateful for the opportunity that was given to me to manage the Springfield Lucky Horsehoes this upcoming summer, I have accepted the Head Football coaching position at my Alma mata Brookwood school, and will no longer be able to serve in that role. Jaime Toole and the

I made this a few months ago. These are the 8 balls you have to hit, this is where you hit them. It’s simple but it’s just a nice visual to help young hitters understand contact points. @nextlevelbb

Nick Saban explaining how he handles kids coming to him about playing time- “I think I should be getting more playing time.”- Player “Who ya better than?” “Huh?” -player “For you to play more, someone else will play less so like I said, ………….who are YOU better than?”

You know that kid on a 14u team that’s one of the top 4-5 players, but definitely not the best because he’s smaller than everyone else and not shaving yet? Yeah, that guy will end up being the best HS player of the group 90% of the time. I’ve seen it over and over again.

The late bloomer: -fundamentals are on point out of necessity. -the game has been “hard “ to them for several years. They understand work/failure. -Low ego guys. (Weren’t shaving and hitting HR’s with -10’s) If they can hang on long enough, their time is coming. @nextlevelbb

I would bet that 95% of Division one baseball players can do at least 1 of these, 75% can do 2, and at least 50% can do all 3 of them. 1) throw a baseball 90mph (doesn’t have to be off the mound) 2) Run a 6.9 or better. 3)Hit a baseball 400 feet. Don’t kill the messenger.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT BASEBALL PARENTS: when your kid is DH he is in the starting lineup. Actually, and in the Coach’s mind. So when you complain about him “not touching the field” it’s very confusing. Chances are he has the range of a ball bucket anyways. @nextlevelbb

I was a .380 hitter in college and a .233 hitter in pro ball. I get asked what was the biggest difference? Sure pitching was better Sure I was swinging wood BUT the biggest difference: the DEFENSE! 6 hole chopper-out Blooper in the triangle-caught Missile in the gap-caught

How 95% of recruiting works: 1. A coach calls people he TRUSTS and says: “Any guys in that area this year? Or “I’m looking for a guy that can do XYZ” OR: 2. TRUSTED coach calls college coaches and says: “I’ve got a guy that can do XYZ, any interest?” @nextlevelbb

Catchers are different. -you have to have leadership skills -have to be SELFLESS -have to be smart -have to be a DAWG -have to be a coach/psychologist /cheerleader 90% of players don’t have what it takes. The O Lineman of baseball. Thank a catcher today🙏 @nextlevelbb

I wish high school kids could see some of the 5 o clock hitters on college teams that rarely play or don’t play at all. If you don’t know what a 5 o clock hitter is, it’s a guy that destroys balls in batting practice, but doesn’t hit well in the games. It’s the same thing as

Not being able to hit “slow” pitching because it’s “too slow” doesn’t mean your some great hitter with electric hands. It means you can’t/haven’t learned to make adjustments.

Today a college kid swung at a 57 foot changeup: “Did it look like I’m getting out on my front foot a little bit??” We are dealing with a generation of hitters that think hitting is 99% swing mechanics, they were taught by self proclaimed experts who played one year of JUCO.

Players: Drip, kissing your chain, 2K worth of equipment in your bag, oven mitts, etc aren’t fooling the guys that make decisions Coaches are STILL looking for feet, hands, strikes, bat speed, foot speed, arm strength, and guys that have a little sense. @nextlevelbb
