- No other way to say it: The president turned a mob loose on the US Capitol.
- Just watched an incredible segment on 60 MINUTES in which a tech entrepreneur restored an African national park and lifted up the surrounding community for something around $100 million. Seems like a better use of wealth than like, you know, buying Twitter.
- As someone who once covered SCOTUS, it's been frustrating to see Trump and allies treat it like a local zoning board where if you pack it with the right people, you can get your development approved.
- The @JoeBiden campaign says it raised $48 million in the 48 hours since @KamalaHarris was named the VP nominee.
- Trump said Russia and Finland have gotten along for "a hundred years." The USSR invaded Finland in 1939.
- James Clapper says on CNN that US should consider sending fighters to Ukraine and that although he doesn’t want to escalate, he wants to stop playing by Putin’s “rules of engagement.” Whoa.
- With Evers winning, Dems went 7 for 8 in Senate/gov races in MI, OH, PA, Wi —all states Trump won in 2016.
- Biden dug himself out of the hole that we in the political press buried him in.
- Trump is the person who can deny a story about him not getting enough praise (@maggieNYT) and get mad about not getting enough praise in the same day.Anthony Scaramucci, who was quickly terminated (11 days) from a position that he was totally incapable of handling, now seems to do nothing but television as the all time expert on “President Trump.” Like many other so-called television experts, he knows very little about me.....

- On CNN, DC Attorney General Karl Racine calls on Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment.
- The Democrats, Cruz tells the crowd, want to turn Texas into California with their “tofu, silicon, and dyed hair.”
- Replying to @jamesoliphantRepublicans only completely abandoned Nixon when they thought he became a liability. Will be fascinating to see what unfolds tomorrow when they wake up to the possibility they have lost the Senate and given Democrats control of all three branches.
