Doing a charity climbing challenge in memory of my dad, who passed away in June. I am raising money for the charity myeloma UK to support others going through the same journey as he did. If you would like to donate the link is below.
Please don’t feel sorry for me. I’m not struggling, I haven’t had a hard life especially not for the past few years.I’m happy. Having a disability doesn’t mean we’re unhappy, or we need sympathy.I’m independent, strong and confident and anyone who knows me knows this. Love ya❤️
Exactly one year ago today, I went for my first Emmerdale audition. When I walked into ITVs reception to wait to be seen by the producers, I didn’t think I’d get the role, let alone get where I am. Always take that chance. You never know what might happen.
Hey to everyone that thinks I’m messy, scruffy, or a bad actor.I used to think that too. It took years for me to build my confidence and I’m so happy that I look and feel good. I’ve spent a lot of time learning my craft, and a lot more learning to love myself. And I feel great.😘
Can’t believe it’s a year to the day that I had my first working day at Emmerdale. What a year it’s been, and I’m incredibly thankful to those who have aided and helped support me in my career and journey so far, as well as you guys! Thank you for being so passionate about us.
Spent years being told as nicely as possible that a career in the acting industry simply wasn't a viable option because there weren't enough roles for disabled people in the industry. Now I earn a living from a role for a disabled character. #ShareYourRejections
My first @emmerdale episode was one year ago today! It’s so surreal because I still feel ‘new’ but at the same time so ingrained in the show. One year ago, Ryan walks up to Charity on a park bench - and his life, and mine, changes forever.
Please, please, PLEASE do not use blue badge spaces if you do not have a blue badge or disability! It doesn’t matter if you’re just ‘popping in’ - it’s really inconsiderate and disrespectful. Please respect that some of us take longer to walk places - so parking closer helps!
One thing I’ve learnt in the past year is that confidence is key. Believe in yourself and others will believe in you. Once you let go of any insecurities it’s easier to find your footing because it’s not about your shortcomings but what you can bring to the world. All positivity.
Spending the last 8 months in the public eye has taught me that while most people are incredibly accepting, ableism is definitely alive and well- and also rarely talked about. It’s so important to stand up for everyone and fight ignorance with facts. Be kind❤️
