Something I've been thinking about all day:
About a year ago, literal, flag-furling Nazis protested a drag brunch at a trendy Columbus brewery. Chanting "there will be blood" and "Aryan sun"
No police response. No broad political outcry. The day just came and went.

- This is really a "holy shit" story The NTSB testified to the U.S. Senate that Norfolk Southern had no scientific reason to burn off huge amounts of hazardous chemicals into the East Palestine air. I.e. this plume below did not need to existRail car burn in East Palestine wasn’t needed, transportation safety chief tells Sen. JD Vance cleveland.com/news/2024/03/r…
- In non-Issue 1 news.... The woman who told the Ohio House Health committee that vaccines make you magnetic and interface with cell towers lost her medical license today
- Outside the Columbus Statehouse. A lot of guns, Proud Boys, Trump flags, etc.
00:00 - A very common news story: Microsoft is getting a 100% property tax abatement on a $420 million investment for 15 years. (It's also eligible for a nice sales tax credit on its hardware investment) In return, Ohio gets 30 jobs
- BREAKING: An unknown male called House Minority Leader Emilia Sykes from her father's phone number. He claimed to have her father, state Sen. Vernon Sykes hostage. He said if she didn't resign, he'd kill her father. All per a police report just released
- All 6 protestors arrested after refusing to leave @SenCapito 's office without promise of a no vote on AHCA
00:00 - Wow. This is a line to early vote on State Issue 1 in Franklin County wrapping around the lot ***on a Friday night***
- Dave Yost, who regularly touts his former-journalist credential, was just remarkably wrong about this in a very public way and it really didn't take all that long for an investigative reporter to find receiptsBREAKING: Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost says there is "not a whisper" that a 10-year-old child was raped and impregnated, there has been no request for crime lab results, and that Ohio's heartbeat law would have allowed such a young girl to get an abortion in the state.
00:00 - Replying to @jake_zuckermanMeanwhile, some of the locals are still stuck in hotels, that Norfolk Southern is no longer paying for. And they say they're suffering symptoms of chemical exposure, which the EPA and Norfolk Southern deny
- FirstEnergy admitted last summer to bribing both the Ohio House Speaker and the state’s former top utility regulator. I went back through the record produced in those related cases to see where Gov. Mike DeWine was in all this. Here’s what I found:
- BREAKING: Gov. Mike DeWine signs legislation that -Legally redefines natural gas, a fossil fuel, as "green energy" -Expands oil and gas drilling in state parks More details to come
- New investigation from me: How did a 9-year-old child's name wind up on a public comment asking Ohio to open Salt Fork State Park for fracking? Dozens, including the child and an older blind woman, say their names were used without their knowing consent
- BREAKING: Jury finds ex-Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder, lobbyist/former Ohio Republican Party chairman Matt Borges guilty of racketeering.
