    I grew up fascinated by this photo from 1970 of my Grandad (29) and Grandma (23) taken outside their home at 26 Langton St Salford 6. My Dad and Uncle are “rowing up the Amazon”, my grandads motorbike and sidecar is covered just off camera and their cousins are walking behind

    Today Salford Council passed a motion to write to @RMTunion GS Mick Lynch to send solidarity and congratulate him on his media appearances that have inspired thousands to join trade unions up and down the country. Proud to sign this letter alongside @salford_mayor

    Turns out I was being surveilled whilst a union rep at @ForHousing as order by CEO @henry_terefenko. Disappointing that that’s how a “social” landlord would behave. Trade union victimisation has no place in 21st Century Britain. I thought I worked in Swinton not El Salvador.

    Honoured to have been elected as a Councillor for Walkden North in what was a trend bucking day for Salford Labour! I joined Labour in 2013 through my union @unitetheunion. As a senior rep they had my back and I’m looking forward to working with TUs on Salford Council.

    Very happy to have been re-elected and to see an overwhelming vote for Labour and a rejection of Britain First. Divisive politics of Britain First only weakens our communities. However, It’s clear we, as Labour Councillors, have a lot of work to do and we’ll get it done.

    Thank you to @SalfordDevils for this lovely signed condolence card. We buried my dad yesterday and to get home after a long day to find this on the doorstep meant a great deal. This is what rugby league is about.

    1/2. Solidarity with the @RMTunion on todays strike day! I moved a motion at Salford’s Full Council in solidarity with the RMT and @CWUnews. Time that the working class stops paying for the mega profits and gross executive pay of the boss class.
