- We are the result of the sperms fertilisation of the egg. The sperm carries the man’s DNA and the egg has the woman’s DNA, the fusion of the two is what creates the Zygote - Embryo - Fetus - Baby. If we were just the sperm, by that logic we wouldn’t have our mother’s DNA.
