There are no ITU beds in the valleys. So you might be 23 and invincible if you get COVID but what if you crash your car? Or a friend takes an overdose or a parent needs emergency surgery? Guess what! No beds for you either. And THAT’S how this affects everyone. Rant over.

The New York subway has banned dogs that don’t fit in a bag and the results are the best thing you’ll see online today.

Why do trauma get to say stuff like man vs bike, woman vs car etc but medicine never say woman vs E.coli, man vs atherosclerosis, man vs own immune system etc? I’m just saying

Seriously. How are people managing to do exams and on calls and research and audits and have a life? Soz for being a shite trainee just coz I prefer taking naps, going for brunch and heading to home bargains on my days off over doing audits and writing case reports 🙃

One of my friends has just received this email from their directorate. I’ve advised them to reply “because I’ve got a bloody life outside of this hospital and I already spend too much time in this place”. Making people feel guilty for not working on days off is filthy.

Why do I know all the words to every song I’ve ever listened to more than twice and yet I can’t remember anything about hyponatraemia despite revising it 900 TIMES 🤯

Leadership is fairly simple. My consultant bought me a coffee today (good leadership). My reg drunk my coffee (bad leadership).

Yeah, work is shit but have you ever actually looked at how many of the bloody awesome people in your life you’d never have met otherwise?

For lent I considered a diet change and then decided I’m not giving up anything because the world is pretty messed up right now and we all need the little things that bring us joy so, no, I will not stop eating NHS chips 4 days a week for lunch.

The best thing about being a female doctor who doesn’t wear scrubs is that you can take your stethoscope off and you automatically become non-clinical staff to anyone who sees you and no one tells you anyone’s NEWS score ever again.

If I didn’t have a mortgage to pay and guilt over leaving a Rota gap, I’d probably leave training right now coz it’s shit. How do people put themselves through this?

Arriving on the ward to review a patient as the team stands there slagging you off for not having reviewed the patient yet is peak awkwardness. Do you pretend you didn’t hear or say HERE ARE THE LAZY LYING DOCTORS YOU ASKED FOR and then storm off dramatically with the notes?💃🏻
