My book, The Natural Health Service, is out now. It explores how the great outdoors can help treat mental illnesses and how society needs to change to give all of us access to nature. You can buy it here: waterstones.com/book/the-natur…

Been too depressed even to swim for the past week and a half: haven’t been that bad in a couple of years. Getting back into the pewter water with today’s wind chill required some determination but of course once I was in, I was v happy. 🏊🏻‍♀️

Not strictly wildlife related but I’ve just finished knitting this jumper and it’s botanical so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Whenever I’m feeling sad, I remind myself that it took four years of me talking to my friend about her husband’s job as a vicar before she told me he wasn’t one. He was in insurance. She just thought I was a bit odd.

Happy moment this morning: my psychiatrist has discharged me from the perinatal service because my mental health has been so good ever since my son was born. Hugely grateful to my local NHS MH trust for the support they’ve given me since my mind went off a cliff a year ago. 🎉

Been singing Moon River a lot to Jacob because I’m soppier than I’ll admit. I love the line “two drifters off to see the world, there’s such a lot of world to see”. Am so looking forward to showing him this amazing world. #NaturalHealthService

What is your favourite wildlife photo you’ve ever taken and why? I’d absolutely love to start a lovely long thread of pics that give each of us personal joy. Mine is this Barn Owl, flying low over the gorse on a summer eve at North Walney. I can still smell the coconut perfume
