    Six years ago today, Laquan McDonald was murdered by a Chicago police officer. He lost his life due to systemic failures by our city & egregious abuse of police power. The injustice in the aftermath was met with organizing that changed our city. We still seek justice for Laquan.

    Officers in Illinois are required by law to show their last name and badge number. You can use that info to look up their police misconduct records on cpdp.co. You can tweet a CPD officer's name at @CPDPbot and it will respond with the officer's record, too.

    Today, we remember Rekia Boyd, who was killed 10 years ago by off-duty Chicago Police officer Dante Servin. This evening in 2012, she was a 22-year-old Black woman headed to a party with friends in North Lawndale.

    NEW: Chicago Police covered up dash-cam footage in #HarithAugustus case. Newly released video, withheld by CPD for over a year, and our investigation w @ForensicArchi shows that the fatal encounter was caused by aggressive policing rather than any criminal conduct by Augustus.
