For the first time in a quarter century of service, I am struck by a sobering thought. That there are people currently in uniform that would cheer over the death of some of us. I always thought we were one team with a singular purpose. I feel betrayed. It stings. Deeply.

I’m still confused why military officers have to renounce citizenship to other countries to earn a commission. But a dual citizen born abroad can sit in Congress and write defense policy. You can’t hold a rifle with two flags. But apparently, you can hold a pen. Strange. 🤔

Let me rewrite this for you: “2,500 casualties and 900 deaths at Omaha Beach wasn’t a result of failure, it was a miracle of planning and execution under fire. Most assumed we’d lose far more. Bradley didn’t cause a tragedy. He led men through one.” Hope this helps.
