Indian pharma is doing what Indian IT companies failed to do. With a massive cash stockpile, Indian pharma is now on an overseas acquisition spree, especially in the US. Intas, Torrent, Sun pharma, Syngene, Zydus all have made big strategic acquisitions over the past few months.
I think Indian X doesn't realize how far ahead of the game Ahmedabad is! Ahmedabad has uninterrupted power supply since the late 90s, all cables (electric, telecom, etc) are underground (literally zero overground), has massive amounts of rooftop solar and has piped cooking gas.
This is much better than giving MLAs bungalows spread over acres of prime real estate. In an ideal world, this would be replaced by an accomodation allowance.

One thing is crystal clear these past few days. The West will not take clear, moral positions when it comes to India like it does for some other countries. We have to make our own destiny & forcefully wield power by getting richer. There's no substitute for it.
India has two stumbling blocks to tick all the boxes for a global power: an afterburning turbofan engine and semiconductor chips. Once that is done, we will have accomplished every technical feat that a powerful country to be reckoned with has.
