Supposedly this is a picture of the rough at Oakmont.
At what point are we not even really playing golf anymore? Pitch-out rough is boring. I want to see people still TRYING to get their ball to the green from iffy lies, not "well, let's wedge out sideways" lies.

- Shifting forward at the right time in the golf swing is tough if you’ve never done it before. I like to have students swing to ~P3, ⏸️, then “fall” forward while finishing their backswing and downswing. It’ll exaggerate it, but it helps feel the proper timing. #golf
00:00 - When golfers are trying to fix the “flow” or shifting in their golf swings, asking them to throw a ball, pick up and set down their front foot, or take a small step can help them understand the timing. Otherwise, it will often seem unnaturally early…
00:00 - Great drill here to help stop the trail elbow from going too far around your body. Put your trail forearm (near your elbow) on your lead hand and keep it there (allowing your lead arm to lift a little) throughout the backswing. #golf #PlayBetter #JuniorElite #GolfEvolution
00:00 - Opening up the face of a high lofted club doesn’t point the face nearly as far right as the bottom groove or leading edge would indicate. #PlayBetter #golf
00:00 - We’ve used this training aid for a decade now. We call it The Tube. It’s a bit of corrugated drain tube from Lowe’s, covered in foam. It makes you turn instead of quickly bending your trail elbow. #golf #golfevolution #playbetter
00:00 - Replying to @iacasOften the rough is much higher weeks before the Open and then they trim it a bit before the tournament. That's likely the case here. But… I'd still like to toss my hat in the ring of "let's aim for a rough height that still tempts a lot of players to go for the shot."
- The way I see it… A: right-center B: right lip/edge C: a ball out D: half a cup out E: a cup out Strong opinion loosely held at this point. 😀 What do you see?
- I see a lot of grips like the first image, where the grip gets into the index finger, but still rides up into the palm. This can rob you of range of motion (hinging) and another type of motion (palmar flexion to rotate the shaft/clubface).
- Replying to @johngrahamgolfWell, it was so bad… Round 3 was canceled, and they’re concluding the tournament with the fourth (now third) round to start from scratch on Friday. Wow.
- Here’s a list of nine little things great golfers do that you too can do if you simply care enough to do them. They’re listed in no particular order. What would you add to the list?
- Golfers, you should probably be setting up with the weight toward the front of the arches of your feet (almost toward the balls of your feet). A brief 🧵 on this to explain why.
