Two years ago today, my daughter was born. One year ago today, she was gone and I was pregnant with our second baby. Today, I have a 5mo son who will never know his big sister. We will have to raise him in a world where she is not. God is good through it all, but life is hard.

I literally lived in a cardiac ICU filled with critically-ill babies for 6.5 months last year and I have never been more pro-life than I am now.

I’m sorry but am I supposed to be invested in a romance when one or both individuals are already married? I don’t understand why movies/shows do this. It’s not romantic, it’s infidelity and I dislike the characters for it.

Here’s the thing. You didn’t “decide the gender of your baby,” you decided which baby you wanted to keep. Maybe the difference seems subtle, but it’s HUGE.

Ultrasound did not go as expected. There is something wrong with our baby’s heart but they do not know what. I am waiting to get into a fetal cardiologist to make a firm diagnosis and identify next steps. Please if you can spare a prayer for us, we could really use it.

She’s still here with us, thank God. Compared to 1.5 weeks ago, this alone is a miracle. Waiting to see where she lands. It’s all up to her to tell us if or when it’s time to go… still holding out hope for more miracles, but it’s in God’s hands. Thanks for the prayers!

At our daughter’s memorial service, an old college friend really said to my husband: “I just had a baby girl and I love her so much. Daughters are so special, I just can’t imagine losing her.” Because apparently it needs to be said… this type of comment helps no one!
