    UPDATE: To date, we’ve successfully restored power to just over 70,000 customers The level of damage to our distribution system is simply beyond comprehension. We’re managing this from a whole of city perspective given that no single area of the City is unaffected in some manner

    All available Hydro Ottawa employees, external contractors, and other Ontario and out of province utilities have been called in to assist with restoration efforts. These reinforcement crews are coming from as far away as the Greater Toronto Area, Kingston and New Brunswick.

    We sincerely wish we could provide restoration times for all of you. As soon as we know, we will post. Ottawa's electricity grid has not sustained such extensive damage since the Ice Storm of 1998. Our crews will continue to work around the clock. Scene at Greenbank today:

    Today, we made significant progress, with crews focused on working in some of the most impacted neighborhoods including: Merivale, Woodroffe, Greenbank, Pineglen, Overbrook and Elmvale Acres.

    UPDATE: Crews continued to work through the through the night, and have restored power to 106,000 customers. Crews continue their efforts to repair damage caused by Saturdays storm and restore service for all customers.

    Crews have worked overnight and will continue to do so over the coming days. Restoration is expected to extend over multiple days & will be prioritized by trying to do the greatest good for the greatest # of customers: large scale outages restored first, followed by smaller ones
