Volume Profile for beginners, let's go!
Got a few people in my dms asking about volume profiles, value areas, poc, npoc, pdvah, ... because I use them a lot in my posts
We start with volume profile (vp), which is a way of visualising how much volume was traded at each price
One of my favorite setups to trade
Tripple drive showing exhaustion into htf supply
Structure break with big imbalance
Lower high in the imbalance
m1 or D1, I just love trading these
Risk Management for beginners, lfg!
Okay this one is longer overdue, too many questions about leverage or seeing people get liquidated around here
gonna quote one of the smartest money-managers I know to start off:
once you understand itโs all about making high probability
It really is that simple tbh
Yes, it can be different this time, there is a non-zero chance you get away with longing here.
Data is against you though. Over a large number of trades, it is a losing strategy, so it comes down to this:
Do you want to just get lucky once and burn
Round 3.
Exact same signature we saw at our July 29th top at 69k before the flush to 49k AND at our August 25th local top at 65k before our drop to 52.
I was very vocally bearish at both of those local tops because of the data that I shared below and we are seeing the same data
so some guy is riding an 800M notional BTC long on 25x leverage it seems?
unlike saylor this guy needs to exit, I'd be a lot happier as a bull if this guy got liq'd first
Orderflow reading for beginners, let's go!
We'll take a look at
- CVD spot
- CVD perps
- OI
- Volume delta
- Liquidations
- Funding rate
Most of these deserve a thread of their own, so I'll keep it simple and easy for now
Here is what my standard setup looks like
"it's all longs"
"no man it was all shorts"
Meanwhile you have access to historical resting bids/asks and open interest for free. On top of that you know that this move down was led by spot selling a retarded amount of coins in no time.
Let's dive in!
1. resting bids getting
in case you don't get it, these are all the m5 long-stops that didn't get taken
with 22000 BTC worth of positions opened since 78k
I get anxiety just from watching this
I really struggle with people not making a difference between structure and internal structure
the high that created the new low, break that then you have a HH. then you break structure and can create your first HL.
Everything in between is irrelevant, you are still below the
1. BTC dominance
No reason to fight it so far. BTC gets institutional-sized money inflows, alts don't. Everything they told you to buy is at zero, BTC isn't? Buy BTC.
2. Alt dispersion
Many talked about it already, it's very hard to pump all alts like they did before. I'm not
this is one weird cycle tbh. the first time i am clueless about what to look at or what not to look at. worried about not gettin as much upside for alts because tbh, a lot of them already close to zero now. insane altcoin mess while btc is just down roughly 30%, what to do????
