For the first time in 30-plus years my heart is not in this job. Had no words yesterday. Have plenty to say now all in support of Josh and everything he's done for us, for the athletes, for the readers. Feel like taking my ball and going home.
There are so many great sporting events involving area teams this weekend -- two state championship games, two of New York's top-ranked basketball teams playing, a legendary coach going for the Section 1 wins record. I'm sorry to say that I won't see any of it... (1 of 2)

Do me a favor before we all get neck deep in the playoffs ... say thank you to your coaches. A lot of the content we produce is not possible without these folks taking a few minutes at the end of a long day to report games or answer our many questions.

I’d go with, “Do you believe in miracles?” but that’s been done before, so ... Holy crap. ETBE just sent Mamaroneck home 1-0.

Almost done with the local reaction story. According to Section 1 executive director Todd Santabarbara, this guidance applies to football, volleyball, cheerleading and boys lacrosse, as well. And there is time enough to play all three remaining seasons in some form.

The county executives from across the Hudson Valley (Section 1 and 9) have issued a joint statement. High risk sports are approved to proceed. This applies to interscholastic, club and recreation teams.

I’m hitting the pause button today and joining colleagues across the country in a walkout. We are protesting decisions by Gannett leadership that have decimated our newsroom. Our readers deserve better. We deserve better.

This just in from Section 1 boys soccer coordinator Matty Allen ... Daniel D'Ippolito (Somers) and Milton Mancias-Magana (Mamaroneck) have been named All-American.

People need to come to grips that all seasons we’re going to be impacted regardless of the game plan. The way things are going, if somebody offers you a chance to play 12 lacrosse games followed by a sectional tournament, sign up. Let’s not be greedy.

ICYMI: Wait, so high school athletic fields are safe for non-affiliated camps and club teams but not for resident student-athletes? The state needs to explain. Cuomo tells NYSPHSAA offseason workouts are not authorized until he signs off lohud.com/story/sports/h… via @lohud
