- Replying to @BlueRepublikmy only contribution would be that, if attacking a retreating enemy were a war crime, it'd be difficult to prosecute violations: there'd be an incentive to employ a strategy of rapidly reversing direction between retreating and counterattacking, trying to bait a war crime
