NZ has one public servant for every 83 people. Who are they and what do they do all day? Why did the last Govt hire so many?

Jacinda Ardern very forcefully says social media needs to step up and stop pretending they can just be a neutral platform: “They are the publisher not just the postman. They cannot have the profits without the responsibility.”
Many of the key people at the protest will never accept any fault for this, any of it. It will be “antifa agitators”, or the fault of MPs for not going to talk to people who had signs about hanging them. They have complete media ecosystems that will sustain this.
Some personal news: I’m moving to London after the Budget in May. It’s been an incredible five years in the gallery but I’m keen to try something else for a bit. Will miss all my colleagues immensely, especially the team at Stuff where I’ve worked for 11 years.
