My hot take is that you shouldn't even have to apply for aid after a disaster. They know who doesn't have power or water. It's all on record. They could just send out money and food and water. It's a choice how they spend our resources and tax money. Not our choice, though.

- I hated feeling powerless as a child, being told I couldn't change anything, hated seeing my students suffer from lack of resources when I was teaching. Then I had a baby during a pandemic and I truly understood: our society hates children. 1/7
- Sometimes when I'm feeling down, I go watch videos of men and women experiencing the menstrual cramp simulator side by side. And then I laugh and laugh at the idea that men are stronger and less emotional than women.

- I think more people are at their breaking point than anyone realizes. Because most people I know are hanging on by the thinnest thread.
- I'm so tired of surviving a system that wants me to sit down, shut up, and die. I want to live in a world where caring for everyone is a priority, not a problem.
- But don't ask for housing or food or clean water or public transportation or education. We don't have the money for that.BREAKING: The House just passed an $895,000,000,000 Pentagon budget.
- Alt text: "the 5 richest men on the planet now hold a combined $869 billion in wealth. If each spent a million dollars daily, it would take 476 years to exhaust their wealth. Once again: it's not radical to tax the rich."
- Friendly reminder that every aspect of our system is made up and we can make a new one if we want. It literally doesn't have to be this way.
- Y'all need to understand that the college kids who are being attacked by police were around 7-10 years old when Sandy Hook happened. Elementary age. Their entire lives have been defined by school shootings. It's fucking horrifying.OMFG. I don't think I understood Gen Z until this very moment.
