- This ESPN2 broadcast on SC-ECU may be the worst I’ve ever watched on one of the major channels. Total incompetence from the production truck missing plays repeatedly, and the announcers are brutal.
- South Carolina’s women have not lost a regular season game in calendar years 2022, 2023 and 2024. Won two national titles in that span. There’s not a better coach in any sport than @dawnstaley right now.
- Reminder: Indiana’s coach (who plays the last of his 2 currently ranked games all season Saturday) says backing out of playing Virginia non conference was because he was taking an “SEC scheduling philosophy”.South Carolina’s next 5 games
- If a team has ever deserved a win, it was @GamecockFB today. Incredible effort in the face of serious adversity. Everything about the energy around Muschamp’s rebuilding project just changed. Holy crap.
- It is entirely possible someone in the South Carolina coaches box is going to smash through the glass before this game is over. The energy level and screaming is louder than I have ever heard from any staff in the 15 years I’ve been here.
- South Carolina 31, Clemson 30 - Shane Beamer’s upcoming contract extension talks just got really easy. The Gamecocks will finish the regular season ranked and potentially bowling in Orlando, after not even being projected into a bowl mid season. What a crazy month this has been.
- South Carolina 21, Auburn 17 - Don’t let the odd way the win was sealed eclipse SC rallying from down 14 early to make it happen. ZaQuandre White and others prove playing hard is a skill. Strong blocking by WRs helped. Gamecocks are bowl bound in Beamer year one. How about that?
- NFL scouts are already talking about LaNorris Sellers as a possible first rounder. Everyone knew about the physical ability, but the growth he’s shown from Old Dominion to now is incredible.
- South Carolina 63, Tennessee 38 - Easily the most improbable outcome of any game I have ever covered. Gamecocks score the most any unranked team ever has on the Vols. Shane Beamer has a signature win, and the over under on when they get the field cleared of fans is midnight. Wow.
- Marcus Satterfield to Nebraska as OC is the best possible outcome for him and South Carolina. He leaves on a huge high note, and Shane Beamer gets to pick what direction he wants to go offensively with a very different hiring situation than he faced in 2020 as a rookie HC.
- Kentucky people were extremely cocky online this week. Even the most optimistic Gamecock fan likely did not envision getting to respond with a curb stomping, but here it is.
- Just got a phone call from Auburn living relative: “Was South Carolina the best 2-8 team in SEC history, or am I missing something here?”
