I’ve learned that not speaking on things just to keep the “peace” is actually a trauma response. When you do this, you disrespect YOUR boundaries. No matter what, keep taking up space and use your voice

- y'all, my mom is the goat. so she works in a nursing home with mostly other immigrants and she asks her boss for hazard pay considering they feed, bathe, and care for elderly & immunocompromised residents.her boss (karen) laughed at her and said they could have free lunch one day
- Replying to @gual_erey_them to come back to work and conceded to giving additional hazard pay on top of their hourly wage...this is the PERFECT time to join local organizing efforts. the electoral system may have failed you but your community won't if we come together.
- what's happening in tx is a prime example of manufactured scarcity under capitalism. b/c electricity, water, food, housing are not recognized as human rights/needs, ppl in power have been able to commodify it. we are conditioned to believe that we are not deserving
- it's always "listen to black women" until they're socialists, revolutionaries, pan africanist, etc.....cuz now ur just uncomfortable with that idea of listening to them
- THINGS TO DO INSTEAD OF CALLING THE COPS (thread) *strong communities make police obsolete
- remember this week that mutual aid groups helped you more than your government. remember that when ppl try to tell you that the most powerful thing you can do is vote. that is a lie. we've always had revolutionary potential in our community. we always help each other in struggle
- in 1956, W.E.B. DuBois refused to even register to vote arguing that "democracy has so far disappeared in the United States that no 'two evils' exist. there is but one evil party with two names, and it will be elected despite all i can do or say."
- behind every non black person that’s “changed” since high school is a black person that they traumatized along the way
- Replying to @gual_erey_her boss, Karen, is freaking out and calling her desperately asking for people to cover these shifts so my african mother (petty asf) literally tells her to "have fun doing the dirty work". Three days later, Karen is calling the REGIONAL director and he calls my mom BEGGING for
- Replying to @gual_erey_instead so my mom and her coworkers were so fed up because they get paid next to nothing for taking care of all these people plus with COVID-19, they are literally risking their lives everyday. so she decides to call off "sick" one day...and the REST of her team follows suit
- ppl were clowning evo morales for explaining that things such as water, electricity, power, etc should be rights & shouldn’t be privatized. here we are in texas, dealing with the aftermath of a state that doesn’t prepare for anything cuz these basic necessities are privatized
- JOIN AN ORGANIZATION, STUDY, AND CONNECT WITH YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES
- i want all these "youth climate activists" to free themselves from being groomed by these politicians to do these performative stunts and create a million orgs to "gotv"...join a revolutionary organization and study instead!!!
