    Trump blocks NIH review. I’m on a study section to review cancer grants but received this email today: NIH has paused all communication, as directed by the new administration (e.g. cnn.com/2025/01/21/hea… ), and that apparently includes a pause for all study section meetings

    I am excited to share our new preprint on lactate metabolism! This has been a tremendous effort by my lab, @StavrosDrakos and @RutterLab to integrate biochemical and physiological data to understand the mechanism of lactate metabolism in the heart. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…. .

    Excellent study by my lab neighbor @RutterLab Really awesome discovery potential here for understanding metabolic networks in vivo.
    Beautiful study looks at equilibrium binding of 830 metabolites with 33 central carbon metabolism enzymes to discover some super interesting, novel and functional protein-metabolite interactions. Excellent follow up on hits. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
