- In 1988, I boarded a flight for Korea sitting beside Jimmy Magee who told me it was his 10th Olympics. It was my first. Many hours of tales later we landed in Seoul and sat together in the stadium each day. I learned so much in 2 weeks. Today I’m on a flight to my tenth Olympics.

- Two things. Conor Kelly only just turned 18 a few weeks ago. He still has a full year more at Under 20. And……would you look at that margin of victory in a European final……😳. This guy is special…Conor Kelly unquestionably the best under-20 400m runner in Europe. Wins gold in 45.83, beating his own Irish record.

- That 3 ft putt for Harrington took me back 15 years to the 3-footer to win the Open at Carnoustie. A few demons swirled around him on that back 9 but @padraig_h swatted them away with that 30+ foot putt on 15, the 6ft par save on 17 & then that wee one on 18. A major winner again
