nats view on death interesting to me. she mercy kills ben, she thinks lottie would be better off dead, she says jackie is lucky for dying so soon. she sees death as a kindness but as an adult she and travis have the anti suicide pact, which implies to me that she doesn't see-
she resented her pregnancy so having them see her morning sickness, her obvious bump, clothes getting too small, struggling to get around and do her chores, having to give up sleeping in the attic and losing her agency in a survival situation so many small humiliations for months
no but the shock on her face means jackie absolutely believed van was going to die on the plane and still willingly left her behind to save shauna oh my GOD
tw suicide
i'm honestly shocked there hasn't been a successful attempt in the wilderness yet and i wouldn't be surprised if we see someone do it in the teen tl in s4
(i don't consider jackie an active suicide more a passive giving up and dying)
-herself as deserving that kind of escape. which then makes her death even MORE painful bc it's almost like she has finally somewhat accepted and forgiven herself after what she's done in the wilderness. she saves lisa by sacrificing herself which obviously parallels javis death-
ppl with better religious knowledge than me, what branch of christianity would you consider laura lee? i'm planning a fic where she survives and i want to get her religion right
