Our Reading Rooms are just the place to sit on a cold day. Find a cosy corner and read a favourite book. The Theology Room is open from 9 am until 10 pm every day, whatever the weather!

Our news feed is rammed full of weird 'wild content' videos rather than the people we actually follow. We would much rather see writers, books, literary magazines, theological posts and the like, so please drop a comment here. If we interact, maybe we'll see more of your work!

This is the view from the Reading Room desk when I start a shift on a wintry morning. It's a great way to start the day! Louise, Reading Room Assistant.

People tell us they get three times as much writing done at Gladstone's Library as anywhere else - but it's fine to take a break while you are here and read something for leisure, too! Bring a bestseller with you when you stay. 🙂 Thank you to Jake Campbell for the picture

We are delighted to announce Gladstone's Library has received £777,246 from the National Heritage Memorial Fund. The Library has received the grant to help undertake major repairs to this historic building including the entrance porch, the roof, and the Reading Room ceiling.

Revel in the romance of the Reading Rooms! The best way to make the most of the Theology Room is to stay with us. You could sit here from 9am to 10pm, and then find your bedroom just a short walk from the bookshelves 🛏️ Picture by @ldlapinski on Twitter

When you check in to stay with us, we give you a little bookmark. All the important times are on there: when you can have lunch, when the Reading Rooms open and last orders in the Restaurant. It also doubles as, well, a bookmark! (Pic by Katie Hale - whose new book is out soon!)
