My daughter has given me an advent calendar. Every day in December she has cleaned one thing, she cleaned the sink one day, cleaned my boots for work another day. Such a sweet idea. She wanted to get me a calender but had no money. So she said she would do a chore instead.

Anyone else finding this job hard at the moment? I say “job” and not “teaching” because being in the classroom and teaching is mostly a joy. It’s the job that’s crippling me

All decisions or new initiatives that are introduced in schools should be viewed from the perspective of a teacher on a full timetable or a full teaching day with break duties.

A teacher retired after 37 years at our school. The usual “thank yous” were said then she followed it with a list of people she wouldn’t like to thank. She begun to do a “no thank you” speech that included many education secretaries starting with Kenneth Baker. 🤣

Hello, I'm a teacher. You may know me from my greatest hits including: “please take your bag off the desk” “you’re going to have to buy a calculator for the exam” and the hit that remained at number one for 12 years; "How have you managed to get through the day without a pen?"

My primary aged child tried out for the football, swimming, netball, athletics teams. didn’t make any. 1 form entry. I get the best team is needed but the same kids are doing all 4 pretty much. I want her to love sports. this is very disheartening. Why can’t they have a B team?

Going to use these with my foundation classes. They aren't particularly exciting but it will keep them busy/quiet for 5 minutes so i can take the register and dont require printing Maybe useful for someone - i have a few more to add. wordpress.com/page/mathshko.…

Looked at sequences with yr8 today. Towards the end of the lesson I wanted to get their attention again so I counted back from three to signal I wanted them to be quiet. Me: “3… 2… 1” St raises their hand and says: “- n + 4”
