- After winning the Division IV state title Ribet Academy (first year) coach Reggie Howard was asked how you go from winning one game a year ago to a state championship. "We were able to go out and recruit some kids from all over the country. We were able to change things."
- Props to the AAU teams/programs that went out and played some real competition before the live period to get prepared... and we’re not afraid of losing..
- True story: TCU head coach Jamie Dixon began his coaching career as the #2 assistant at Los Angeles Valley Junior College. The #1 assistant at that time was......Dana Pump.
- Mark the dates: So Cal Fall Juco Jamboree is Fri-Sun Sept 16-18 at Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA. Biggest Juco event on the west coast. 60 teams from CA. No-brainer for any four-year school in the country who recruits Juco.

- State of affairs in high school Hoops in CA. The CIF is mandated (required) to follow state guidelines. Current guidelines allow for basketball to be played in yellow tier. Only way hoops can happen is if counties reach yellow or guidelines change. Neither scenario is realistic.
- Boogie Ellis from Mission Bay HS says his 6 finalists are: Duke, North Carolina, Arizona, Memphis, San Diego State, USC. He plans to sign in November.
- LA Washington Prep has added transfers Nick Hart (West Covina), Alize Travis (Eastvale Roosevelt) and Matthew Mondesir (Bishop Montgomery).
