BREAKING: this morning we received news of the FBI executing search warrants against multiple pro-Palestine organizers at the university, including at least one GEO member. This is an alarming escalation by the university and state. The situation is developing; more soon.

- BREAKING: @UMich president docks pay, sends cops on picketing grad workers (Full press release below 📣)
00:00 - The vote passes! GEO membership has authorized a strike, effective TOMORROW. This is a historic moment: we are striking at the beginning of the year, in the midst of a pandemic, to protect our whole community. IMPORTANT THREAD WITH NEXT STEPS:
- BREAKING: Grad workers vote to ratify U-M offer, ending longest strike in GEO history This guarantees a 20-80% raise for incoming grad workers and a living wage for most PhDs, with wins across a host of issues, from trans & parental care to abolition and harassment protections.
- BREAKING: An overwhelming majority of Grad Workers at tonight’s GMM vote to continue striking at least until April 30, making this strike the LONGEST STRIKE IN GEO HISTORY ✊
- BREAKING: 2,500 grad workers & supporters walk away from $24K at the rally and march this morning. Our strike is LIVE!
- We have learned that, in their rush to dock our pay, U-M Admin denied medical leave to a grad worker about to undergo chemotherapy for brain cancer (even with their extensive documentation). This is emblematic of @UMich's treatment of us throughout this campaign.
- INJUNCTION DENIED
- BREAKING: Grad Workers Vote for Tentative Agreement (TA) with U-M Winning a living wage for most PhD students and major gains in harassment protections, police abolition, and parent & transgender grad care, the TA is a testament to the power of our strike.
- U-M can afford to pay grad workers a living wage. Grad workers can't afford Ann Arbor without one.
- BREAKING: We have learned via FOIA request that U-M started making payments to their injunction lawyers in 2022, months before the start of our strike. This shows that the university never bargained in good faith and never intended to avoid a strike.
