Glad to have been part of the Mac's story and very happy to see it at the top of the personal computer industry.
Mac changed everything when it was introduced 40 years ago, and through the years it has done so again and again and again. Today’s Mac lineup is the best in the history of the personal computer, and it’s built on decades of revolutionary innovation. Happy birthday Mac!

A word of praise for the engineer who wrote the 68K emulator on PPC, it fit entirely in the PPC cache! (We tried to hire him at Be but he wouldn’t budge. Gary: If you read this, great tight coding feat not forgotten!)

Steve Jobs would be 61 today. I miss agreeing and disagreeing with him - and telling him how much I owe him.

Chris is right. In retrospect, we should have bundled HyperCard.

Neat Ars Technica story on the BeOS file system a.k.a. BeFS. The main creator, Dominic Giampaolo now works at Apple where he played a key role in the development of Apple’s APFS. Cyril Meurillon is at FaceBook.

I (belatedly) realize Apple will use Services to keep the company growing as iDevices don’t seem to be able to find a Next Big Thing. This changes the business model, the culture:

Your're right, yes, I did. I even had an AMIGA96 license plate to advertise one of Be's core ideas.
