New rules just down from D.C. gov: * All nightclubs closed * Suspending all bar seating * Suspending service to standing patrons * Tables and booths must be 6 feet apart and occupied by 6 people or fewer

Not a joke: The White House website (whitehouse.gov) does not list "The Judicial Branch" under branches of "Our Government."

“This used to be a pretty dangerous part of D.C.” is a thing a white dude tells two other white dudes while walking down H Street NE in 2019.

Lapis, an Adams Morgan restaurant founded by Afghan immigrants, is collecting much-needed supplies for Afghan refugees. The Popal family posted a list of suggested donations on their Instagram: instagram.com/p/CSsp-bEDn3a/… Also, if you’ve never dined at @LapisDC, you’re missing out.

Went to a patio in Navy Yard tonight, and shocked/disappointed in the number of people walking around without masks, especially those coming into restaurants without them. Shows a marked disrespect for the people working at those bars, and their families. Do better, people.

“I don’t want to tell you about a 6-year-old bar that was named ‘Best Speakeasy’ in Washingtonian Magazine’s annual readers’ poll two months ago.”
I kind of don't want to tell you about this spot because it only has around 20 seats, but it's the coolest place I've been to in a while. 600 T is a snug basement cocktail bar with solid drinks, a chill vibe, and live jazz every Thursday from 8-11. 600tdc.com

"Nightclubs" here means venues with a specific nightclub license, not bars/restaurants with DJs/live music.

Update: @TheAtlantisDC says it received more than 520,000 requests for tickets for its first 44 shows, with less than 20,000 total tickets to distribute. Winners will be notified on a rolling basis, with the process expected to be finished on Thursday. Good luck!
Foo Fighters. Pixies. The Walkmen. Maggie Rogers. George Clinton and P-Funk. Jenny Lewis. Joan Jett. Franz Ferdinand. These are some of the 44 artists playing @TheAtlantisDC, a 450-capacity "near replica" of the original @930Club, opening 5/30. Details: wapo.st/437KiI3

People tweeting angrily about how an anti-gentrification protest snarled traffic at 14th and U and ruined their commutes: 1. That’s the point of a protest. 2. Maybe just relax and enjoy Backyard Band? They cover Adele. It will be okay. #DontMuteDC

The full language here regarding clubs: "Venues licensed as nightclubs and multi-purpose facilities in the District of Columbia must suspend operations to comply with the Emergency Rulemaking to Prohibit Mass Gatherings."

Having a hard time not intervening in a blind date where the guy refers to Adams Morgan as “scary” and says that “a lot of places are scary in DC.”
