Tired of blaming each other for why we can’t have nice* things In 2026 we lay blame at the feet of our true enemy: our overwhelmingly white supremacist billionaire overlords & the genocide machine they run (*queer, diverse, intelligent, kinky, original, horny, human-created)

Old fandom shipping terms & how they were used: a thread 🧵

The fact that SPOTIFY is suddenly verifying ages made me realize: The AI age verification. It’s the AI. The AI companies have been desperately looking for a way to make AI profitable … & they finally found it. Every big AI investor will run w/this bc it pumps profits to AI.
    there is no fucking way.

Guarantee you this is going to flag a lot of autistic adults as children
Heads up: YouTube's "Made for Kids 2.0" is coming next month In theory, restricting child accounts instead of punishing creators is exactly what we need. However, requiring ID to use YT is exactly the bad solution I feared. Also, it's AI. We all know how poorly that's gonna work

OTP: One True Pairing Your inviolate ship. You don’t ship characters in this ship with anyone but each other. OT3: One True Threesome Your inviolate polycule. Often used when canon has a love triangle & you like any combination of the 3 characters involved. 2/🧵

Rarepair: a ship that relatively few people ship (compared to the overall shipping trends). Crackship: a ship that is absurd from a ‘canon’ standpoint, or has zero canon ‘support’. For example: The characters have never met, or they’re from different series altogether. 3/🧵

Multiship: shipping multiple ships in a fandom, often with overlap. For example: shipping both AxB & AxC is ‘multishipping’. (An OTP would exclude this kind of multishipping of the involved characters.) Bicycle: a character you ship with damn near *any* other character. 4/🧵

It’s morbidly fascinating to me how many American LGBTQ+ fandomgoers today don’t understand that queer coding is something queer creators use to fly under the radar in openly queerphobic societies

Ship war: when people who like different, conflicting ships - ie, A/B shippers vs A/C shippers - get into online arguments about which ship is ‘better’. Today, ‘Better’ usually means ‘more morally correct’. It used to mean ‘better supported by canon’. 9/🧵

Citrus scale: old-school system for rating sexual content. Common Examples: —‘lime’: making out, heavy petting, etc, but no penetration/direct genital contact —‘lemon’: ‘onscreen’ sex involving contact with genitals in some configuration Other words were used less often. 8/🧵

Squick: something that personally disgusts you. It may be a kink, a trope, a ship, etc. NOTP: the opposite of an OTP. It’s the ship you absolutely do not want to see anywhere. May squick you out. BroTP: you ‘ship it’ platonically (as opposed to sexually or romantically). 7/🧵

And never forget: 1) censorship is & will always be managed by the most racist, queerphobic, & misogynistic conservative you can imagine 2) ‘protecting kids’ is only an excuse for stripping away the rights & privacy of every adult that conservative queerphobe wants dead
kids will always find a way to access porn online. age verification doesn't change that. just like teens will always be having sex. any attempt to stop it is futile and violates their rights. rather, we need to educate children how to stay safe online and practice safe sex

ADHD culture is not knowing: -*when* to ask for help b/c ‘overwhelmed w/things to do’ is your normal, default state -*how* to ask for help b/c you don’t even know how to describe what needs doing, so organizing the help would be more work than just doing it yourself

Side note: the words ‘ship’ & ‘shipping’ are also used to mean a lot of different things. Some ppl say ‘I ship it’ only when they want to see mutual romantic/sexual content. Some say ‘I ship it’ bc they want to see one-sided pining or unhealthy sexual dynamics explored. 5/🧵
