GDS is officially 6 years old today - seems an apt day to be my last @GDSTeam and in the civil service. Off to the US again for some new adventures but will always be proud to have been part of all things GDS. Onwards!

- Only been in SF a week but my son is already so Silicon Valley he's having his own cuddle party.
- Watching #FyreFestivalNetflix should be recommend viewing for all Brits- come 29th March you too will be stuck on a small island with no food and the dawning realisation you've been sold a false dream so it's good to get prepared!
- Conversations with my husband @dps Me: I've got a great idea for a product David: Oh yeah, I've got a patent on that. From ten years ago. Me: .........
- I have never been more convinced that the next generation will see the destruction of civilization as we know it, than I am after today's playtime. I mean who starts a jigsaw from the middle and does the corners last? Its just chaos. What will become of our children?!
- My daughter isn't old enough to vote yet but she chose to wear her Irish top in solidarity today. Please vote Yes for her and all the other girls who want to grow up to have choice over their own bodies. #RepealThe8th
- Interesting thoughts on leadership from @gdsteam. "The best digital leaders are humble and collaborative, yet ambitious and creative" - @simoneverest accurately describing himself and his great, understated leadership even if he doesn't realise it."The best digital leaders are humble and collaborative, yet ambitious and creative." - @simoneverest. - This kind of constant maligning and undermining had a big impact on my decision to quit the civil service. My colleagues were universally dedicated, hard working and went above and beyond to deliver - but this crap makes it hard to keep and attract talent (see previous tweet)Michael Gove has accused civil servants of slacking off after doing their statutory 37-hour week spr.ly/6011DM6RD
- Really glad to see initiatives like this, particularly since I've currently chosen to take a break from my career to look after the small ones. As far as I'm aware it hasn't involved my brain being removed and my tiny bosses give me great perf scores, most of the time.Did you know that women lose nearly 40% of their earning power when they spend 3+ years out of the workforce? Proud to say that @stripe is partnering with @PathFWD to help women who take a career break re-enter the workforce. Read more here: pathforward.org/fall-2018-san-…
- 4 year old daughter watching #WinterOlympics2018 figure skating pairs. "why do only the girls get lifted? That's not fair". I love the way she makes me rethink things I just take for granted...
- It is the universal law of children's birthdays that no matter how much you think you've planned in advance you will still be building a sandpit in the garden at 8.30pm the night before, and trying to remember where you hid the presents so his sister wouldn't find them....
