Yesterday, our Special Operations crews spent the day training on the upper Potomac River in Great Falls. These hands-on exercises help sharpen critical rescue skills and ensure our personnel remain prepared as we enter the busy summer season.

Just after 5pm on evening of 6/9 #FCFRD responded to vehicle crash on I-95 S near I-395 split in Springfield. Arriving crews found multiple vehicles involved & 1 civilian trapped. The civilian was transported. 2nd civilian was evaluated. Virginia State Police are investigating.

#FairfaxsBravest are on scene of a house fire in the 5800 blk of Glen Forest Dr in Falls Church. Just before 2:40pm on 6/8 units responded to reports of fire in rear of home. Crews located lawn mower on fire with extension to a deck. Fire out. No extension into home. No injuries.

This morning 6/6 at 8:42am #FairfaxsBravest responded to a house fire in 5200 blk of Capon Hill Pl in Burke. Crews arrived to smoke showing from roof of a single-family home. 1 civilian transported to a local hospital. Fire investigators are working to determine cause.

#FairfaxBravest are on the scene of a vehicle fire on I-66 West near Route 123. Crews located a single vehicle on fire and quickly extinguished it. No injuries. Crews have two regular lanes closed. Expect delays.

#FairfaxBravest @VSPPIO on scene of a vehicle crash on I-66 EB Express Lanes near Route 123. Just before 5pm units responded for crash with entrapment. 1 patient transported non-life-threatening injuries. 2nd patient evaluated. Scene has been turned over to Virginia State Police.

On Sunday #FCFRD @wmata & NVERS participated in emergency exercise that tested 1st responder skills in response to derailed train & mass casualty incident. This type of event is high risk, low frequency meaning it may not happen often, but when it does margin for error is small.
