If you have to pay $500,000 compensation for a minister’s behaviour, that minister should not be a minister.

ICAC has operated in NSW for 33 years and well-known NSW politician Scott Morrison STILL doesn’t now how it functions. It investigates. It doesn’t convict. There is oversight. But it might make people accountable, which would explain Morrison’s hostility towards it.

Scott Morrison’s most significant contribution to Australian politics was in preventing Peter Dutton becoming PM. That contribution might now be fading.

I wish our prime minister was the can-do, dynamic leader portrayed in The Australian rather than the Scott-the-Unready, responsibility dodger we have.

By my calculation the Sue Gray inquiry into lockdown-breaching by Boris Johnson staff took 17 days. Again by my calculation the inquiry into who on Scott Morrison’s staff knew what and when of the Brittany Higgins allegations has been underway for 252 days.
