- 50 years ago they tried to stop Katherine Switzer running the Boston Marathon. Yesterday, at 70, she ran it again, wearing the same number.
- Timpsonโs are well-known for employing ex-offenders to help them back into work. They pay their tax. They value their staff. And then thereโs this. CEO James Timpson (whoโs also Chair of the Prison Reform Trust) is the new Prisons Minister. Great appointment
- Popping back on here to wish a very happy 90th birthday to my darling Ma, #PrunellaScales. Acting the hell out of life since 22nd June 1932. If anyone would like to send her a message, I'll make sure she gets it (and I'm sure it would make her very happy) x
- Happy birthday to my dear Ma, Prunella Scales. 88 today. Spoke just now about her time at drama school, which she remembers well. Sheโs in good spirits
- Happy birthday to my darling Da #TimothyWest, who is 90 today. A proud Yorkshireman by birth (Bradford 20/10/32). Hereโs a pic from earlier this year, celebrating Shakespeare with Ma. Iโll be seeing him later if you wanted to pass on any good wishes

- Singing together was prohibited. Not just choral singing, which brings joy and comfort to so many, but singing at tens of thousands of funerals. And they had a fucking karaoke party #NotMovingOn

- I'd take Sunak's crusade against teenage 'loitering' more seriously if his party since 2010 hadn't closed more than 800 libraries, sold off hundreds of playing fields, cut arts funding by a third and local authority grants by 40%. Young people need cheap, interesting things to do
- Happy Diamond Wedding Anniversary to my dear parents, #TimothyWest and #PrunellaScales. Early days of course, but it seems to be going well. I hear the first sixty years are the hardest ๐โค๏ธ
