Friendly reminder that I sign most clients from my unsolicited query box & as long as I am open & people have manuscripts in the categories I rep you can send them to me! The same is true for most agents. Pitch events have their purpose but aren’t the only avenue to getting rep.

Nothing like sending out an innocuous pass on a query and getting told to fuck off. Guess what? I have zero regrets on passing, in fact, I’m feeling pretty good about it.

I keep reading these romance novels where the heroes are 44 and are described as silver foxes but like these heroes are basically now my contemporaries and while a couple of my guy friends have gone silver, most of them have not.

Random thought: Agenting is like browsing in a giant bookstore. There’s thousands of books in there and the ones in my query inbox to the ones on the table, so I have a chance to take a closer look. Some tables I have no interest in, but some call to me. I’ll pick up a book—
