- Told you we can afford to scrap their monthly RM1.5k fuel allowance and other perks such as outriders, entertainment allowance, etc. They love to walk. Heck, they won’t even mind taking public transport back here in KL.
00:00 - Re: Fashion Valet. What separates Singapore and Malaysia when it comes to investments is accountability. When Temasek's investment in FTX bombed, the team took a pay cut, even if FTX was only 0.09% of its net portfolio. Malaysia?
- Oh... MyKasih - that's running the terrible Sara system - is founded by Ngau Boon Keat, who also controls Dialog, the RM10 billion O&G services firm. Some Thursday trivia. Sekian.
- Mahathir turns 100 tomorrow. Man is older than sliced bread.
- How much does it cost for a chain like myBurgerLab to build a halal-certified central kitchen? RM2 million. And that's the start of a costly journey many undertake to maintain their halal-certified status. Covered some of these in today's @themalaysianist newsletter.
- KJ was a Najib enabler right till the end ie GE14, even when the 1MDB scandal was at its peak. He may have told Najib to throw Jho Low under the bus (he has said this before), but when Najib didn't listen, KJ continued backing Najib. Hopefully we don't forget this.Khairy Jamaluddin calls for Jho Low to be sent back to face justice in Malaysia. youtube.com/live/3H3C7I3n9…

- Minister here is saying that his ministry wasn't consulted when TNB announced the rate hike yesterday through a bourse filing. I don't think this is a good look on both government and TNB.[TERKINI] 🔹 Tiada sebarang keputusan kenaikan tarif elektrik di Semenanjung, sebarang kenaikan yang boleh membebankan rakyat tidak dibenarkan sama sekali 🔹 PETRA tidak dirujuk serta dimaklumkan oleh TNB terkait pengumuman mengenai kenaikan tarif elektrik di Semenanjung 🔹
- A company with Farhash as a shareholder gets a coal mining exploration licence by Sabah Mineral Management Sdn Bhd, according to MalaysiaNow. Given the ongoing corruption scandal involving senior Sabah politicians - yikes. Farhash is ex-PM Anwar's aide turned businessman.
- Fahmi’s comment for journos to cooperate with cops is a non-starter. Journos should remember it’s their duty to protect sources at all cost. This hasn’t changed. It’s part of the job. Unless you forgot and were busy doing something else like currying favour or ass-kissing.
