It did take us flying over 53 million kilometers from Earth, but here we are! Infinite thanks to @ashleevance for writing an epic story about CHIMERA GEO 1 and its flight so far. πŸŒŽπŸ“‘ <---->πŸ›°β™₯️ Also, thanks to @goonhillyorg, @CSIRO, @KSAT_Kongsberg, @amsatdl and the many
Well, this story is simply amazing. @epicaerospace has set a distance record for contacting and controlling a private spacecraft. But its tug is now 53 million kilometers from Earth and needs our help to bring it back. corememory.com/p/exclusive-th…

We got beacons and data! The spacecraft is healthy and power positive. We are working to establish uplink and begin commanding the spacecraft to begin the mission.

All encapped, and ready to go! Here's to the launch of CHIMERA GEO 1, our first OTV designed for high energy transfers. Boasting over 1.7 km/s of delta-v, this vehicle is already setting a number of industry firsts, and is but a glimpse of many more things to come. Thanks to

We are happy to announce that we installed our class 100,000 clean room structure at the test site! We have also nearing hot fire testing of our LEO tug prototype, which you can see the team working on. Everyone is super excited to be so close to firing it already! πŸš€

EPIC AEROSPACE is proud to announce that it has begun testing its first fully functional CHIMERA LEO space tug. With highly configurable engines providing 280-300s of ISP and under 1 kN of thrust, our LEO tugs are to be the most capable, inexpensive, and compact in the world.

This is the most compact space tug firing its engine for the first time. CHIMERA LEO is starting to come alive.

Ever imagined this view? Well, this shot is one of our favorites! We decided to set a GoPro camera right at the bottom of our GEO engine. We love seeing the flame with the sky as background!πŸš€

We are happy to announce that the GEO engine has reached test number 100! πŸš€ It's been an exciting journey already, & we'll keep testing to ready our engines for flight! With 220-500 kg of thrust, this engine runs on commonly available fuels and will carry 300kg+ to GEO.

This past month we conducted non-stop tests of our Tromen engine. In this close shot, you can appreciate the flame and see the engine’s mach diamonds πŸš€

At Epic we produce our own rocket fuel, build our own engines, and can test entire spacecraft in-house. This is a 500kg thrust rocket engine that will power some of our larger space-tugs around Earth and even the Moon.

Test, test, test! The heart of our space-tugs are the engines. We run short tests like these daily, changing different parameters like pressures and injector designs to build the cheapest and most reliable propulsion system we can.
