Just crossed the Upper Level of the 59th St. Bridge back into Manhattan to avoid the Congestion Tax shoved through by UES representative @LizKrueger. It’s a disaster. Everyone is trying to use the upper level in an effort to avoid the money grab. #axethetax

- 36° and cloudy. They cooked Third Avenue by slowing the lights to a ridiculous 15 mph to accommodate e-bikes. Manufactured congestion at its finest by @NYC_DOT.
- All we see is manufactured congestion, so a privileged few can ride their bikes in mostly empty bike lanes. Some of the urbanism happening in New York City…is stunning.
- Traffic on Third Avenue absolutely jammed thanks to the ridiculous retiming of the lights. Flow has been purposely reduced. This is such a blatant attempt to create congestion. @NYC_DOT FIX THE LIGHTS
- All I see is manufactured congestion.Multimodal streets aren't "communism". They're good math.
- Imagine getting this excited to impose a financial burden upon New Yorkers and their guests.Congestion pricing is amazing. Was just in Lower Manhattan. Not car-choked, foot, bike and car traffic flowing very freely. Good idea, absolutely worth $9.
- When you let someone with a journalism degree design and oversee our streets. Manufactured congestion with the caveat that they will tax you $9 for it.
- If you’re a bike advocate and can’t admit that a red-lighting running cyclist hitting a pedestrian or getting in a collision with a car is responsible for their actions, then you truly aren’t about safety.
- Manufactured congestion courtesy of agency captured @NYC_DOTCar congestion became so much worse after car lanes were reduced down to 2 lanes, and underutilized jumbo-sized bike lanes and unused CitiBikes took over.
00:00- Backed up again on the 59th St Bridge because @NYC_DOT (NYC Dept of Tricycles) removed a turning lane on 62nd St. Deliberate sabotage. All because they wanted to expand the bike lane 7ft. You can’t make this stuff up.
- Traffic lanes have been reduced, streets have been closed, obstructions have been placed in roads, and over 100k ride shares have flooded NYC streets. This is what is called Manufactured Congestion. And they want to tax you for it…"While ‘switching on’ congestion pricing was a state issue, it’s Mayor Adams’ job to seize this generational opportunity to transform the City’s streets and public spaces to ensure all New Yorkers feel the benefit of less congested streets." transalt.org/press-releases…
