- first time i went to bf's house, saw a picture of his son and his kinder teacher in a frame. i picked it up and said, "aw, this is so sweet" and then i noticed there was a *phone number* on the back. he was like "oh yeah, she really liked my kid!" ....my sweet summer child.

- texted my family that my divorce was final and little brothers never miss a chance to roast you
- i just did the overstimulated mom "WHAT?????" to my 3yo and he yelled back "MOMMY YOU NEED TO TALK TO ME GENTLY!!!!!!"
- 3yo yelling, "YOU ARE NOT TALKING TO ME GENTLY!!!!!! YOU ARE MAD AT ME!!!!!!!" with such shock and disdain, i fear i may have gentle parented too close too close to the sun.
- two things can be true: it is not your child's responsibility to give you a grandchild, and you are allowed to be sad about it.
- my grandfather closed my aunt’s fingers in the door by accident when she was in elementary school and even DECADES later he could not bring himself to talk about it. If someone brought it up as a funny story he would say, “I’m so sorry sweet Elizabeth.”
- I just told my husband in a VERY DISTRESSED tone that I stepped on a slug on my way back inside and I was barefoot and traumatized and he said to me “RODRIGO??? DID YOU STEP ON RODRIGO?”
